Acadia Insurance is pleased to announce its partnership with Goodwin College in East Hartford, Connecticut, as the school launches its new Insurance Certificate program. Goodwin College has a proven track record of identifying Connecticut employer needs and designing programs that produce highly qualified talent ready to fill those positions.
In response to insurance industry demands, Goodwin will launch its new Insurance Certificate program which was designed in close partnership with several Connecticut agents and brokers. Beginning on January 14, 2019, the 22 week full-time curriculum will prepare students to sit for the state licensing exam as well as provide them with a solid foundation in the principles of insurance with industry professionals taking the lead in teaching the courses. In addition to the technical components of insurance, courses include sales and service fundamentals, customer relations in a multi-cultural world, and insurance software management. An important component of the curriculum is the opportunity for students to pre-apprentice in Connecticut agents’ or brokers’ offices.
According to Dan Leonelli, Regional Vice President at Acadia Insurance, “One of the most frequently asked questions when we visit our agents is if we know of any good customer service people. Given this need, Acadia Insurance is proud to be the first carrier to partner with Goodwin College in this worthy endeavor. We believe this program will help to solve one of our agents’ biggest challenges – finding quality candidates who have the skills and knowledge to step into the role.”
Kate Bolduc, a 25 year insurance industry veteran, and now a Director of Business Innovation at Goodwin, has worked tirelessly to build and launch the Insurance Certificate program. Kate can be reached at email@example.com or at 207.844-4515.
