WESTBROOK, Maine (April 23, 2018) – As part of Acadia’s commitment to supporting the communities in which it does business, Acadia Insurance, a Berkley Company, provides volunteer time and financial support to the Westbrook Children’s Project. The mission of this project is to support all young people in Westbrook from cradle to career.
Most recently, to help support kindergarten readiness over the spring and summer, Acadia provided funding for literacy kits for incoming kindergarten students that will support kindergarten readiness. In addition to flashcards, magnetic letters and other school supplies, each family will receive a summer learning activity calendar to assist parents in kindergarten preparation.
“Acadia is proud to be an active part of this important partnership of schools, parents, businesses, community organizations and residents,” Acadia Insurance President Doug Nelson. “Our common focus is the success of our future workforce and a positive impact on our community in the future.”
