David LeBlanc, CPCU

President

David joined Acadia Insurance in 2005 as Vice President, Specialty Marine and now serves as President. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a degree in economics and began his career as an underwriter in Liberty Mutual’s Motor Transport department in Boston. Dave currently lives in Maine with his family.

Ryan Capponi, FCAS, MAAA, CPCU

Vice President, Chief Actuary

Ryan joined Acadia Insurance in 2009 in the actuary department and now serves as Chief Actuary. Prior to joining Acadia, he was a part of the actuarial teams at Liberty Mutual Group and OneBeacon Insurance. 

 

Ryan is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries. He also holds the CPCU designation. Ryan earned his bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the University of New Hampshire. He is married with two children, and resides in Scarborough, Maine.

Enya Carter

Vice President, Chief Financial Officer

Enya rejoined Acadia Insurance in 2025 as Chief Financial Officer after owning a small business in Maine for 10 years. Previously, Enya held the position of Controller at Acadia for more than 10 years. Her insurance background includes serving as the Director of Financial Analysis for the Maine Bureau of Insurance prior to her work at Acadia. 

 

Enya earned her bachelor’s degree in math from the University of Massachusetts and her MBA from Loyola College in Maryland. She and her husband reside in Maine.

Anthony DeFraia

Assistant Vice President and Profit Center Manager, Acadia Advantage

Anthony joined Acadia Insurance in 2014 as a Senior Underwriter in New York, and most recently served as the Regional Underwriting Manager for Advantage responsible for Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York. He now serves as Assistant Vice President and Profit Center Manager of the Acadia Advantage team. Prior to Acadia, he worked as an Underwriter at Travelers Insurance for 8+ years.

 

Anthony graduated from Siena College in 2005 with a bachelor's degree in economics. He splits his time with his family in Ellington, CT and Saratoga Springs, NY.

Lisa Felix

Assistant Vice President, New York Branch Manager

Lisa joined Acadia Insurance in 2011 as a Senior Underwriter/Team Leader in commercial lines and now serves as Assistant Vice President, New York Branch Manager. Prior to joining Acadia, she worked as an underwriter for commercial lines with the Aetna Insurance Company and various roles with the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies.

 

Lisa graduated from the Sage Colleges with a master’s degree in education. Her undergraduate degree is from the University at Albany with a Finance Marketing degree. She lives in Syracuse with her family.

Doug Freeman, CPCU, MBA, ARM

Assistant Vice President, Maine Branch Manager

Doug joined Acadia Insurance in 2013 as an Underwriting Team Leader in the Massachusetts branch. In 2015, Doug joined Acadia’s Maine Branch as Underwriting Director, and was promoted to Assistant Vice President, Maine Branch Manager in 2020. Prior to joining Acadia, Doug held several Underwriting and Operations leadership positions at Liberty Mutual, where he began his insurance career in 2001.

 

Doug holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Boston University, and an MBA from the University of Georgia. Doug earned his CPCU designation in 2005. He resides in Amesbury, MA, with his wife and two sons.

Keith Gleason, CPCU, AIC, SCLA

Vice President, Chief Claims Officer

Keith joined Acadia Insurance in 2003 as a Claims Trainee. Since then, he has held various positions within Claims handling both property and casualty losses, progressing to handling complex and high exposure claims in our Major Case Unit. Since 2013, Keith has provided leadership for our property claims team, most recently as the Assistant Vice President, Claims.


Keith earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Southern Maine, and has his CPCU, AIC and SCLA designations. He resides with his family in Maine.

Lisa Kilbreth, CPCU

Regional Vice President, Twin States Branch Manager

Lisa joined Acadia Insurance in 2011 as the New Hampshire Underwriting Director. She now serves as Regional Vice President, Twin States Branch Manager for New Hampshire and Vermont.


Lisa is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire’s Whittemore School of Business and Economics. She resides in Manchester, NH with her husband, Mark, and their German Shepherd, Roxy.

Don Leonard, CPCU

Assistant Vice President, Claims

Don joined Acadia Insurance in 2000 as a Senior Claims Representative and has since held roles as a Specialist in the Major Case Unit, Casualty Director for the Maine Branch, and most recently, Casualty Claim Manager. He now serves as Assistant Vice President in Claims. Prior to joining Acadia, Don worked at Progressive for six years.  

 

Don holds a bachelor’s degree in english from the University of Maine, and earned his CPCU designation in 2009.  Don and his wife Amy live in Old Orchard Beach, ME where they enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren.

Stephen Mathiasen, AIDA

Vice President, Chief Underwriting Officer

Stephen rejoined Acadia Insurance in 2025 as Chief Underwriting Officer.  He has been in the insurance industry since 2004 working in various functions including Underwriting, Finance, Product Management & Regulatory Compliance. His previous time with Acadia spanned 2013-2021 holding multiple leadership positions in Home Office Underwriting.


Stephen earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from Siena College and MBA from Union Graduate College, both in New York. He lives in Maine with his family.
 

Matt McManus, CPCU

Vice President, Customer Experience & Strategic Initiatives

Matt joined Acadia Insurance in 2007 as an Underwriter Trainee.  He currently serves as the VP of Customer Experience and Strategic Initiatives. In his tenure with Acadia, he has held various leadership positions, including AVP of Inland Marine and AVP Loss Control. Matt also spent time as Underwriting Director of the Maine Branch and a Team Leader in Acadia’s South Burlington, VT office.

 

Matt earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of New England in Biddeford, ME and holds his CPCU designation.
 

Lisa McPhail, ARM, CRIS

Assistant Vice President, Loss Control

Lisa joined Acadia Insurance in 2013 as an Loss Control Representative and became a Loss Control Director in the Twin States branch in 2015. She now serves as Assistant Vice President of Loss Control.


Lisa earned her bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Applied Science from Keene State College in Keene, NH and holds the ARM and CRIS designations. She currently resides in Londonderry, NH.

Sharon Murphy, CRIS

Regional Vice President, Massachusetts Branch Manager

Sharon joined Acadia Insurance in 2000 after a career leading the Underwriting function for the New England Branch at CNA Insurance. Prior to CNA, she worked for Trust Insurance and Carlin Insurance. Sharon now serves as the Regional Vice President, Massachusetts Branch Manager.

 

She is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island, with a BS in business administration.
 

Mari Sepulveda, AAI, CPIA, CRIS

Assistant Vice President, Inland Marine

Mari joined Acadia Insurance in 2017 as a Senior Underwriter and subsequently held positions as Team Lead and Underwriting Director. She now serves as Assistant Vice President of the Inland Marine team. Mari brings over 30 years of experience in the property and casualty insurance industry and a deep understanding of the specialty marine sector.


Mari lives in Connecticut and is also a dedicated mother of three children.
 

Daniel Swift

Vice President, General Counsel

Dan joined Acadia Insurance as Counsel in 2004. He currently serves as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary. In this capacity, he handles a variety of legal matters across all functional departments of the company and manages the day to day affairs of Legal Services, including government relations and compliance. Dan has over 25 years experience in Insurance and Corporate law, having previously worked in the corporate legal department at another New England carrier and serving as staff counsel in the Massachusetts Division of Insurance and the Maine Bureau of Insurance.


Dan earned his bachelor’s degree at the University of Michigan and his law degree at the New England Law | Boston. He has two children and resides in Brunswick, Maine.
 

Tom Ter Horst, SHRM-SCP, MBA, BBA

Vice President, Human Resources

Tom joined Acadia Insurance in 2022 as Vice President of Human Resources and brings over 20 years of HR leadership experience. He previously served as Vice President of HR at MaineHealth, overseeing HR operations at Maine Medical Center.


Tom earned his MBA from Marquette University and his BBA from St. Norbert College in De Pere, WI. He is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and is SHRM-SCP certified. Tom lives in Maine with his family.

Jennifer Towne, CIC

Assistant Vice President, Connecticut Branch Manager

Jennifer joined Acadia Insurance in 2010. Her prior role was as Assistant Vice President, Marketing & Strategic Markets at Acadia. She now serves as Assistant Vice President, Connecticut Branch Manager. Jennifer has over 10 years of property casualty experience, working previously for a national carrier overseeing the marketing for several specialty units.


Jennifer graduated with her B.A. in english from the University of St. Joseph, and earned her MBA from the University of Connecticut. Jennifer is married with two children, and resides with her family in Ellington, Connecticut.
